Rugby Paper Feature
Top2Inches were featured in the Rugby Paper on the 11th July 2010. The article covers the reasons Top2inches were formed and also mentions our approach to kit design.
"Top 2 Inches Ltd is a specialist rugby sportswear company based in Barnt Green in the heart of the Midlands. In this article, we examine this fast growing company and see where they are heading! “We created Top 2 Inches to fill a void in the rugby sportswear market where, as Rugby Players requiring high performance playing kit, there are two glaring problems: Either companies provide low quality team wear coupled with an unreliable service or team wear is not specialised and is mass-produced.” Said ex-Warwickshire and Nuneaton Hooker, Martin Owen. Top 2 Inches was formed in 1997 by Martin, Deborah Shakespeare and Leigh Weston to design and manufacture playing kit and team wear of an exceptional quality, exactly to the specifications of their end customers. “Our focus is on taking our customer through the entire journey of the production of their team wear. We make extensive use of web technology to allow our customers to completely design and manage their team wear designs and orders online. We also provide dedicated account management for each club.” Said Deborah Shakespeare. John Ormbsy, Chairman of Dunlop RFC in Coventry which was one of the 2010 Senior Vase finalists at Twickenham said that “Top 2 Inches provided all of our team wear for the 2010 promotion winning season and final at Twickenham. I have no doubt that the kit and service we received was a large contributory factor to our success this year.” Top 2 Inches is going from strength to strength having secured a number of long-term rugby sportswear contracts. Rugby is a specialist area which is constantly evolving with new clothing fabrics, designs and ideas. With their experience in the design and manufacture of high quality rugby wear, we believe that this focus stands them in good stead for the future. "
